The 2015 Demon Deacon field hockey team went 13-6, including a 4-2 mark in a loaded ACC field that saw all seven teams included in the NCAA Tournament field. Thanks in large part to wins over No. 4 Duke and No. 3 North Carolina, the Deacs earned the second seed in the conference tournament. They also went on to qualify for the national tournament for the third year in a row and for the 15th time under head coach Jennifer Averill. The Demon Deacons were led by a pair of NFHCA All-Americans in seniors Jess Newak and Valerie Dahmen. Newak paced the team in scoring with 32 points, while Dahmen was second in the ACC with 5.42 saves per game. Newak and freshman Jule Grashoff earned First and Second Team All-ACC honors, respectively. Grashoff made an immediate impact on the team in her rookie season, leading the Deacons with 13 goals.
