Women’s Cross Country

  • 12th at ACC Championship

Samantha Jones’ impressive senior campaign highlighted a women’s cross country season that saw Wake Forest place 12th at both the ACC Championships and the NCAA Southeast Regional. With a 34th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, Jones became the first Demon Deacon cross country All-American since 2006 after becoming the first Deacon to run at Nationals since 2010. The Randolph, N.J. native took third place at the Regionals following a sixth-place finish at ACCs that gave her the second all-conference accolade of her career. In addition to the success of Jones, junior Ellie Abrahamson put together a solid junior season that included the Deacs’ lone first-place finish of the season at the Wake Forest Invitational.
